Some day…
... someone will come and use all the cool Cocoa/CoreImage/etc… technologies on MacOS X and combine them to make a very powerful, flexible and leightweight image editor. The technology is that powerful that it might even be as few as two people. They might even have the time to make it really beautiful and useable.
Well, all that just happened.

You’re right, it is vaporware right now, and since may 2007. They promised to deliver until the end on july. Let’s wait and see.
But even if this program will never be released – what I doubt – it still makes a very good point: There are technologies in OSX and the free software community that have the potential to enable a photoshop killer. They are underused, yet very powerful and easy to implement. Adobe uses none of them, but someday, someone will.
Isn’t this classical Vaporware since several months now? Those press screenshots are fake – using Photoshop!
